More About Trees!
|
On Sunday 14th January the fourth of six conservation project days took place at Mareham Pastures Local Nature Reserve. More than 200 new trees were planted and a few failed trees were replaced.
Matthew Davey, Lincolnshire County Council’s Environmental and Community Project Officer said: ‘The trees have done really well; we have only had to replace a few that had not survived the dry summer.’
Zoë Watson, Secretary of the Friends of Mareham Pastures added: ‘It is great to see how well most of these trees have grown. When we planted them they just looked like twigs, but they are already beginning to transform this Local Nature Reserve into somewhere very special.’’
