150 Children Enjoy A Most Egg-cellent Event!
|
On Wednesday 11th April over 150 children (and their parents!) enjoyed glorious April sunshine at the second annual Easter Event hosted by the Friends of Mareham Pastures.
The children followed an Easter Trail around the Local Nature Reserve collecting clues. When they had collected all their clues and worked out the answer, they reported to the finishing point and collected their Easter Surprise.
Every child who attended received an Easter prize from a choice of crème eggs, chocolate bunnies or teddies. A tombola was also held raising £24 towards future events for children at Mareham Pastures.
Matthew Davey, Lincolnshire County Council Community & Environmental Project Officer said: ‘It was great to see so many children enjoying a visit to their Local Nature Reserve and on such a lovely day.’
Zoë Watson added: ‘All the children appeared to have really enjoyed themselves. If it wasn’t for the generosity of local businesses in Sleaford this event would not have been possible; so a big thank you goes out to: Aldi, Boyes, Lincolnshire Cooperative Society and Tesco, who between them donated all the goodies and prizes for today’s event.’
