A group of four young people working towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award took part in the Mareham Pastures Conservation Volunteer Programme.

The four young people who are in year ten at Carres Grammar School have volunteered to take part in the scheme to gain accreditation towards the community service part of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The first of the conservation projects, the construction of a boundary fence took place on Sunday 9th October.

Matthew Davey, Lincolnshire County Council’s Environmental and Community Project Officer said: ‘These projects are open to anyone who wants to try some hands-on conservation work. These projects are also an excellent opportunity for young people to gain voluntary experience towards awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s scheme.
